About The Artist - C.F. Payne
C.F. Payne is an artist/illustrator whose artwork has graced the covers of Time Magazine, Readers Digest, Sports Illustrated, The New York Times Book Review and Sunday Magazine, MAD Magazine, der Spiegel, U.S. News and World Report, The Atlantic Monthly, Texas Monthly, Boys Life and more. He has been commissioned to paint countless politicians, authors and entertainers. In addition, he has illustrated 10 children’s picture books, including The Remarkable Farkle McBride and Micawber, written by John Lithgow.
His artwork has been exhibited at The Cincinnati Art Museum, The National Portrait Gallery, The Norman Rockwell Museum, The Society of Illustrators Museum of American Illustration, The Selby Gallery at Ringling College of Art and Design and numerous college and university galleries.
Payne, of Cincinnati, has recently teamed up with global pet food manufacturer Nestlé Purina and Cincinnati-based retailer Kroger Co. to create the theme artwork for the national television program “Four plus Two: Tales for the pet lover’s heart™,” which will air nationwide on Oct. 25, 2008. The original artwork will also appear on special show merchandise sold in Kroger’s family of stores. Payne will also create the winning prize in the national “Four Plus Two: Tales for the Pet Lover’s Heart™” photo-essay contest in the summer of 2008. He will travel to the winner’s home to create an original portrait of the winner with his or her pet(s) that best illustrates the amazing ways that our pets enhance our lives.
